Olivia received some books, a drum and a ball from us in her Easter basket along with a shape and sort toy and some clothes and books from Grammie & Grandpa Lennex.
Church was an experience as usual. On Easter they do not offer any Sunday school or childcare so it was a little bit of a challenge entertaining a 15-month old for an hour and a half. Oh, and we were sitting in the third row so being discreet was pretty much impossible. Among the things that occured were the following:
-while I was trying to discreetly give Olivia peas for a snack and to occupy her during the worship portion, she grabbed the container out of my hand and dumped peas all over the carpet and the pew in front of us.
-she tried repeatedly to engage the entire congregaion (including the pastor) in a game of peek-a-boo.
-at one point, she leaned forward while sitting on Matt's lap and pinched the back of the guy sitting in front of us and said "hiiiiiiiiiii!" really, REALLY loudly.
-she picked up a cell phone off of the floor which belonged to a woman sitting next to us and said "hewwo"
-managed to find all of the quiet parts of the service to insert loud random words such as "ball," "flower," "ah-men" and "hiiiiiii!" (at least the "ah-men" was somewhat appropriate)
Overall, she was super good in church. No tantrums, no whining or crying and during the benediction at the end where everyone holds hands and sings she thought this was the coolest thing EVER.
After church and her afternoon nap, we headed over to our friend's, Chris & Amy's house to have Easter dinner with them. It was a delicious meal of lamb, risotto and salad and Matt made a beautiful coconut (GF/dairy-free) layer cake for dessert. YUM! The girls had so much fun playing and we did too. It was a relaxing and enjoyable day for everyone.
