Recital

What is cuter than a bunch of 3 and 4 year olds doing ballet moves to music? Not much.  We got to see Olivia's dance recital this past weekend.  A-dorable.  These girls looked so sweet in their little outfits and they were SO EXCITED to "dance for Jesus" as their dance teacher always said.

Their recital was held at an elderly home in Overland Park so when we arrived, Miss Shannon was having everyone run through their routines one final time.  Olivia did the run-through dance perfectly and had so much fun performing for the parents who were already in the room.  Then our actual audience filed in and the recital began.  Olivia was so excited to do her routine again, she would have done it 100 times if they would have allowed it.  The girls filed onto the "stage" and the music started and off she went...except this time, she was so aware that this was her platform, her moment to shine that she decided to heck with the choreographed dance, she was going to jump, spin, twirl and basically do her own thing the entire time.  And that she did.  For those that want to view the spectacle, you can find it here.

No one can accuse her of being a conformist that's for sure.  She marches to the beat of her own drum.  And we are so proud.
